Early voting sets record

Turnout is high in Clark County on the first day of early voting, officials said today.

As of 2:15 this afternoon, more than 15,300 people had voted in Clark County, surpassing the record of 14,000 first-day voters set in 2004.

When early voting sites opened this morning, “there were a lot of eager people standing in line,” county Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said. “It’s been busy everywhere.”

Early voting hours and locations can be found at the Clark County Election Department’s Web site, www.accessclarkcounty.com/depts/election.
