Elderly man dies after car hits utility pole

A 93-year-old man died after crashing his car into a utility pole and rolling over on Paradise Road near Karen Avenue Sunday morning.

Las Vegas police said the man was driving a 1987 Ford Thunderbird north on Paradise, south of intersection, when it veered to the left and struck the curb at 9:35 a.m.

The car crashed through a chain-link fence before entering a parking lot, striking a pole, and rolling onto its roof.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the collision was possibly related to a health issue.
