Experimental plane crashes in Carson City

CARSON CITY -- Authorities say a father and son were injured when a home-built experimental plane crashed Saturday morning at the Carson City Airport.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said the plane flipped over and came to a rest upside down.

He said there was no fire but the two people were seriously injured.

Fire officials said the two were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Their names and hometown were not released.

Officials said the single-engine, two-seat plane crashed on the runway at about 10:30 a.m. Federal authorities are investigating.
