Fallon judge’s son sentenced to up to three years in prison

RENO -- The 21-year-old son of a judge in Northern Nevada has been sentenced to up to three years in prison for stealing his father's guns to sell for drug money.

Jeffrey Michael Lister is the son of Fallon Municipal Court Judge Michael Lister. He earlier was sentenced to a year in jail for having sex with an intoxicated 15-year-old girl at a teen party three years ago hosted by a former softball coach at Churchill County High School.

Judge Lister reported his firearms were stolen and told authorities he thought his son was a suspect.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that Churchill District Judge William Rogers rejected the younger Lister's plea for drug rehab instead of prison. Rogers called Lister an addict and thief who has used up all his chances.
