Fire destroys North Las Vegas home

A home and car were destroyed and a second home was damaged in a Thursday afternoon blaze, the North Las Vegas Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded at 3:02 p.m. to a home at 2900 Dogwood Ave., northeast of Las Vegas Boulevard and Carey Avenue, where a car also was burned in the driveway. The fire spread to another home at 2904 Dogwood Ave., which sustained 20 percent damage, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation late Thursday afternoon. The financial losses because of the fire were undetermined.
