Firm at McCarran again told to prevent sexual harassment

A federal judge in Nevada is ordering one of two companies providing Las Vegas airport wheelchair services to implement policies to prevent employee sexual harassment.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Friday that it asked the judge to act because Prospect Airport Services Inc. failed to protect employees even after a $75,000 settlement in the case of a man receiving unwanted sexual advances by a female co-worker.

Company lawyer Tom Murphy says that Prospect had already agreed to do most of the things the judge ordered.

U.S. District Judge Kent Dawson in Las Vegas issued the injunction Wednesday.

Acting EEOC Las Vegas office chief Adriana Lopez says 16 percent of all sexual harassment charges at the EEOC last year were filed by men.
