First-year teachers honored

Five first-year teachers were honored by the Clark County School District on Thursday for making outstanding contributions to their campuses this year.

The recipients, recognized for their accomplishments at a meeting of the Board of Trustees, are: Heidi Lee of Boulder City Elementary School; Sabrina Moe of Steele Elementary School; Donald Backner of Dickens Elementary School; Krista Donnelly of Lawrence Middle School; and Suzan Kypriotis of Del Sol High School.

The winners were chosen by a committee made up of district administrators and personnel from local colleges. Each teacher received a plaque and will have their photos displayed at the Greer Education Center for one year.
