Flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Elko judge

RENO -- Elko District Judge Andrew Puccinelli has died.

He died Monday at a Reno hospital after a battle with cancer, according to the Elko Daily Free Press. He was 58.

Gov. Brian Sandoval issued a statement praising Puccinelli for his legal mind and public service. Sandoval ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in his honor.

Puccinelli was a native of Elko. He was appointed in 2002 by then Gov. Kenny Guinn to fill the term of District Judge Jack Ames, who retired.
