Flood advisory declared after heavy rains

Weather officials issued a flood advisory for the Searchlight area Thursday afternoon after a thunderstorm dumped about an inch of rain in the region in one hour.

A rain gauge in the town measured about three quarters of an inch between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

A gauge southwest of town measured more than an inch of rain during the same period.

The flood advisory expired at 4:45 p.m.
