Four suspects plead innocent in 82-year-old’s beating death

A 26-year-old man and three teenagers pleaded not guilty last week to murder and robbery charges in the beating death of an 82-year-old Henderson man earlier this year.

Mickey M. Thomas, 26, Marquell Javon McAlister, 19, Alexis Patterson, 16, and Shaniece Holder, 16, face several charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery and burglary.

Authorities said Wesley Roberts was attacked the evening of July 24 in his home on Cervantes Drive, near Sunset Road and Valle Verde Drive. He died from his injuries Aug. 3.

The suspects are scheduled for trial on April 12.
