Gas release set in Henderson

Southwest Gas Corp. will release natural gas in Henderson twice over the next two weeks so it can replace pipe near Serene Avenue, between Gillespie Street and St. Rose Parkway.

Company officials said the first release of natural gas is scheduled for Tuesday between 10 a.m. and noon. The second will follow on July 2 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Each of the releases will last 90 minutes.

Residents may hear a loud hissing sound and smell a rotten-egg odor from an additive in the gas.

Southwest Gas officials do not expect the gas releases to interrupt service.
