Gibbons hires two veterans for administration posts

CARSON CITY — Gov. Jim Gibbons has hired two veteran Carson City insiders to fill deputy chief staff positions in his administration.

Former Republican Assemblyman Lynn Hettrick and former Ethics Commission director Stacy Woodbury will begin their new duties "as soon as possible."

A news release Monday announcing their appointments did not specify what jobs they will fill.

Lynn Hettrick represented Douglas County in the Nevada Assembly from 1992 to 2006. He served as co-speaker of the Assembly and as minority leader for 10 years.

Woodbury was executive director of the Nevada Commission on Ethics from 2002 to 2006. She was also a former deputy secretary of state under Dean Heller before he was elected to Congress.
