Girl shot to death in LV

A young girl, possibly under the age of 10, was shot to death Wednesday night at a residence near Warm Springs Road and Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas police said.

The incident had not been determined an accident or a homicide late Wednesday, homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said.

Police responded to the shooting about 7:50 p.m. Both homicide investigators and officers from the Las Vegas police's Abuse and Neglect detail were at the scene on the 7400 block of Wine Creek Court.

Although Roberts declined to answer questions about what led to the shooting, KTNV-TV, Channel 13, reported that police said two young kids were playing with a gun when the weapon went off and hit the girl. The TV station reported the girl's age as 6.
