Girl who died after sledding accident identified
The girl who died after a sledding accident on Mount Charleston on New Year's Day has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office as 11-year-old Vanesa Lara.
Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jeremie Elliot said that Lara was sledding in the meadows area of Lee Canyon.
NHP troopers were the first to arrive at the scene. Lara was then flown to University Medical Center, where she died.
The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
