Grandfather’s hearing delayed

A federal court hearing has been postponed for up to 90 days for the grandfather of a 6-year-old Las Vegas boy who was abducted in October.

No new date was set in a written order delaying a Monday preliminary hearing for Clemens Fred Tinnemeyer, 51, and his girlfriend, Terri Lynn Leavy, 42, on racketeering charges.

U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen granted the continuance Nov. 25 at the request of prosecutors and defense lawyers who are trying to reach a plea deal.

Prosecutors allege Cole Puffinburger was abducted Oct. 15 to get Tinnemeyer to surface after he disappeared with millions of dollars in drug money from a smuggling operation. Cole was found unharmed Oct. 18 on a Las Vegas street.
