Hard Rock posts biggest single day revenue in April
The Hard Rock Hotel had its biggest single day of total revenue in the property's 14-year history on April 19, President and Chief Operating Officer Randy Kwasniewski told the state Gaming Control Board this morning.
That was the date Sir Paul McCartney played at the new 4,000-seat concert venue, The Joint. Kwasniewski also contributed the success to the opening of the new porte-cochere on April 15 and reintroduced valet parking, both of which have increased customer access to the property off Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue.
Kwasniewski, who was appearing before regulators for licensure as a key employee, told regulators revenue is up 35 percent since April 15.
"The property is customer friendly again," he said.
He gave an update on the property's $760 million renovation and expansion. He said the new 490-room Paradise Tower is scheduled to open in July, with the 375-room Harmon Tower scheduled to open in November.
He also said a new nightclub will replace its long-stand venue, Body English. He added that the Body English space might be converted into a showroom that would give the property the capability to host long-running shows for the first time.
Gaming Control Board Chairman Dennis Neilander said he was glad to hear of a property being able to complete its expansion during the current economic situation.
