Hawaiian man dies after fight

A 39-year-old man died Sunday after being involved in an early morning dispute in the northwest valley, Las Vegas police said.

Police did not identify the man, who was Hawaiian and died at MountainView Hospital.

Police responded to a report of two men fighting at about 1:30 a.m. on the 8700 block of Harvest Valley Avenue, near Durango Drive and Cheyenne Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who was not breathing.

Police said a witness told them the man who died and a second man had been drinking before getting into a fight. The possible suspect is cooperating with authorities and gave a statement to homicide detectives, police said.

When the investigation is completed, it will be submitted to the Clark County district attorney's office, police said.

Anyone with information concerning this case is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or the Homicide Section at 828-3521.
