Heavy snow expected for Mount Charleston; rain for valley
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch Monday for the Spring Mountains, Sheep Range and Lincoln County.
The watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through late Monday night.
Forecasters says snow will develop in the mountains of Clark and Lincoln counties late Monday morning. A period of heavy snow will occur in the afternoon through the night. The greatest accumulations will occur above 5,000 feet, with total accumulations of 8 to 16 inches possible in the Mount Charleston area and Sheep Range.
For the Las Vegas Valley, there is a 50 percent chance of showers in the afternoon and evening, with wind gusts up to 30 mph.
