Heavy snow warning issued for mountains
The National Weather Service has issued a heavy snow warning for the Spring Mountains, including the town of Mt. Charleston, the Sheep Range and Red Rock Canyon through 4 a.m. Saturday. Total snow accumulation of 6 to 8 inches is expect above 7,000 feet.
This is the first significant snowfall this season for the Southern Nevada mountains. Snow has been falling in the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range since mid-morning. Rain is expected in the Las Vegas Valley until 7 p.m.
