Henderson hires lobbyist

The Henderson City Council approved an agreement Tuesday with CapitalEdge Strategies LLC to serve as the city's Washington, D.C., lobbyist and represent its interests in 2013.

Council members voted to pay the consultant $60,000 for its services next year.

According to the agreement, CapitalEdge also was the city's Washington lobbyist in 2012 "and has a proven record of its ability to continue such representation."

Henderson spokesman Bud Cranor said the city paid CapitalEdge $80,000 for its work in 2012, plus $4,000 for expenses. He said the provision that permitted payment for expenses has been removed from the 2013 agreement.
