Henderson man charged in casino killing

North Las Vegas police have charged a 21-year-old man in connection with the Friday shooting death of a patron of the Opera House Casino Friday night.

Stefon Clark, 21, of Henderson, was taken to the North Las Vegas Detention Center and charged with murder and robbery.

According to North Las Vegas police, Clark was robbing casino customers at gunpoint in a bathroom and for an unknown reason shot a 30-year-old man several times.

Officers were called to the casino, 2542 N. Las Vegas Blvd., at 11:26 p.m. The gunshot victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died. Casino security had detained Clark before officers arrived, police said.

The victim's identity was being withheld Saturday pending notification of family.

This is the 12th homicide in North Las Vegas this year.
