Henderson man dies after motorcycle crash

A 24-year-old Henderson man died Wednesday when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a tree near Lake Mead Parkway and Mohawk Drive.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when the man was riding a 2002 Kawasaki ZX-12 motorcycle southbound on Olivia Parkway. Henderson police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed, struck a curb, lost control of the motorcycle and struck a palm tree.

The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he later died.
