ELY -- A Henderson man has been sentenced to at least 60 years in prison for the January 2005 shooting deaths of two people in Ely.
Isaac Asusta, 26, will not become eligible for parole until he is 86 years old under the sentence imposed Oct. 30.
He took a plea deal in the deaths of Frankie Coca and Melody Hawkins. Prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty in the crimes that began with a drug deal gone bad.
Asusta blamed methamphetamine and sleep deprivation.
