Hunting tag applications due Monday

CARSON CITY -- Hunters have until 5 p.m. Monday to apply for big game tags for this year's hunting season in Nevada.

Applications can be submitted online until the deadline. But the Nevada Department of Wildlife cautions that any applications sent by regular mail must be received at the application office by the 5 p.m. deadline to qualify.

Last year, 150,000 applications were received.

More than 22,000 tags for elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, antelope and mountain goat were issued.

Tag quotas for the 2010 hunting season will be set by the state Wildlife Commission in May.
