If only Obama had explained it to us poor dolts better
Do you ever get the feeling that the other guys think democracy is just a play and they have to pull our puppet strings to make us dance in step with their choreography? That the First Amendment is a nuisance because we keep getting distracted by those evil special interests who keep insisting government should work for them and not toward some Utopian fantasy in which we all live in high-rise, efficient rabbit warrens, ride bicycles and eat tofu?
During the State of the Union speech, President Obama once again explained to us in the majority who oppose ObamaCare — 54 percent of Nevadans, according to our most recent poll — how we have listened to the debates and watched the process and have gotten it all wrong.
We can keep our doctors, Obama explained to us dolts. His plan will save $1 trillion over the next two decades.
That's when we got the telling quote: "Still, this is a complex issue, and the longer it was debated, the more skeptical people became. I take my share of the blame for not explaining it more clearly to the American people."
Oh, that's the problem, he didn't explain it well enough, not that we didn't buy it. His debating skills were lacking.
Then he delivered what I thought was the line the straight man delivers to set up the punchline: "But I also know this problem is not going away. By the time I'm finished speaking tonight, more Americans will have lost their health insurance. Millions will lose it this year. Our deficit will grow. Premiums will go up. Patients will be denied the care they need. Small business owners will continue to drop coverage altogether."
I wonder how many others were shouting at the television, "For gawd's sake, stop speaking!"
Run this down to 6:20 for the blame quote:
