Man accused in wife's death dies after 'physical distress'

A man accused of fatally stabbing his wife died Wednesday shortly after he was transferred from the Clark County Detention Center's medical unit to University Medical Center, according to Las Vegas police.

Detention center medical staff found Marvin Bailey in "physical distress" at about 3 p.m. and summoned an ambulance. Bailey, 62 at the time of the August stabbing, was pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m.

Yoneko Bailey, 62, was found dead in her North Las Vegas apartment on Aug. 10. The Clark County coroner's office said the woman died from a stab would to the chest. Her husband, who police said tried to commit suicide before his arrest, was booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.
