Two killed in Pahrump collision identified
The two women killed in a head-on collision in Pahrump Friday morning have been identified as Jackie Jean Hogan-Atayde, 46, and Anesie Louise Mcabee, 50, both of Pahrump.
Hogan-Atayde was driving a Honda Civic north on State Route 160 approaching Mesquite Road when, for reasons unknown, her car drifted over the center line and into oncoming traffic, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The car struck the front of a Pontiac Aztek traveling south on State Route 160.

The driver of the Aztek, a 75-year-old man, was airlifted to University Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Man says he robbed bank to pay mortgage
A 69-year-old man who robbed a San Diego bank after making a bomb threat has apologized, saying he needed money to pay his mortgage.
In a jailhouse interview Friday with KNSD-TV, Michael Casey Wilson said he'd never done a bad thing in his life but got desperate trying to pay off his 17 percent mortgage.
Wilson took more than $100,000 in the Monday robbery but was arrested a few blocks away.
No bomb was found.
BAY BRIDGE INSPECTION
Lanes closed several hours each weekend
Driving across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge could take more time on the weekends this fall.
California Department of Transportation spokeswoman Lauren Wonder said crews on Saturday will shut two lanes of the bridge to inspect emergency repairs they did Labor Day weekend.
Crews retrofitting the Bay Bridge over the holiday weekend found a 2-inch crack on the bridge's eastern side. At the time, the bridge was completely closed to traffic and the unexpected repairs slightly delayed the opening of the bridge.
Two lanes will be closed every Saturday at 11 p.m. and reopened at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.

A Salinas Valley State Prison guard pleaded not guilty Friday to charges he tried to hire a hit man to kill a former love interest.
Monterey County prosecutors said Timothy Rodriguez, 38, thought he was making a deal with a hit man and solicited an undercover agent to kill a woman with whom he had romantic relations in the past. He entered his plea to charges of attempted premeditated murder, solicitation of murder and possession of a silencer.
