SOUTHEAST VALLEY SLAYINGS
Second person in murder-suicide ID'd
The second of two people found dead earlier this week in a southeast valley home in a murder-suicide was identified Wednesday by the Clark County coroner's office as Eric Bray, 40, of Las Vegas.
The coroner said Bray died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and Sarah Wayson, 29, who also was found dead at the home Monday afternoon, died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
Las Vegas police said Bray and Wayson had been dating.
Police said a housekeeper alerted them about 1 p.m. about the bodies in the home at 1292 Sun Village Ave.
Homicide Sgt. William Scott said Wayson's body was on downstairs on a couch. Bray's body was found upstairs.
TEENAGE MOTHER
Hearing delayed in newborn's death
A preliminary hearing for a Henderson teenager accused of killing her newborn son in August was delayed until Oct. 21 because some relevant information has yet to be collected, Clark County attorneys said Tuesday.
An autopsy report for the newborn of Carmela Camero, 19, has yet to be completed, county prosecutor Vicki Monroe said. And Camero's attorney hasn't had time to read a second statement Camero gave detectives.
Prosecutors had witnesses ready to testify, including Camero's mother and stepfather, but Henderson Justice of the Peace Rodney Burr said it wouldn't be prudent to continue without all of the information.
An arrest report said Camero told detectives that, after giving birth at home in a bathtub, the baby started coughing, and she was worried about her mother finding out about the infant.
Afraid she would be kicked out of the house, Camero pressed the baby's face against her breast and held him there until he stopped breathing, the report said.
