Man dies, two hurt in stabbing at Denny's
Three men were stabbed, one fatally, at a southwest Denny's parking lot early Sunday morning, Las Vegas police said.
Police did not identify the man who was killed. A suspect was arrested, Lt. Lew Roberts said.
Police were called to the Denny's at 9310 W. Tropicana Ave., near Fort Apache Road, about 7:30 a.m.
Roberts said the suspect confronted the three men in the parking lot.
The suspect appeared to be angry at one of the trio for talking to his female companion.
"This was likely all over a female," Roberts said.
Two of the stabbing victims were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where one later died. The third victim was taken to Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center.
Roberts said the two injured men are expected to survive. One victim was slashed in the arm. The other victim was stabbed in the chest.

Police identify man arrested in fatal attack
A man arrested Friday in connection with the fatal stabbing of another man was identified as 61-year-old James Peters, Las Vegas police said Sunday.
Lt. Lew Roberts said the stabbing occurred about 6:19 p.m. at an apartment complex at 3200 McLeod Drive, near Desert Inn Road.
The victim's name was not released by police. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and later died.

Small temblor shakes area near Eureka
Authorities say that a small earthquake has struck the north coast and that there are no reports of damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a magnitude-3.8 temblor struck at 10:54 a.m. Sunday three miles south of Eureka.
A Eureka police dispatcher said there were no reports of quake-related damage or injury.
