SHOSHONE TRAILER PARK

Car driven into house; angry man arrested

A Shoshone, Calif., man was arrested for attempted murder on Sunday night after authorities said he intentionally drove a car into a house in the tiny desert town about 100 miles west of Las Vegas.

According to the Inyo County sheriff's officials, David Eddy, 59, was angry about being evicted from the Shoshone Trailer Park earlier in the day, so he drove a 2005 Dodge Magnum into the home of a couple he blamed for getting him kicked out.

A photograph released by the sheriff's office shows the front half of the car jutting from the side of the house.

The couple was inside at the time but they were not injured, authorities said.

Before the incident, witnesses reported seeing Eddy wandering through the trailer park holding a large knife and threatening to kill everyone.

Eddy still had the knife when deputies arrived on scene at about 6 p.m. Sunday, but he was arrested without incident.

On Tuesday afternoon, Eddy was at the Inyo County jail on $500,000 bail.
