DAY CARE DEATH
Report: Toddler found at bottom of jacuzzi
The toddler who drowned Tuesday afternoon at a North Las Vegas day care was found at the bottom of the home's jacuzzi, according to a child death report.
An employee of Marisela's Family Day Care discovered 18-month-old Jordan Williams and a 3-year-old boy in the water after realizing they weren't in the home at 4731 Gunlock Circle, near Lone Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard, according to a child death disclosure form filed by the Clark County Department of Family Services.
The worker looked outside and saw the iron gate between the swimming pool and the house was open and the older boy splashing in the water, the report said. When the worker got to the jacuzzi, Jordan was face down at the bottom.
The drowning remained under investigation by North Las Vegas police.
The Southern Nevada Health District said the day care operated by Marisela and Ramon Carvajal had the licenses and permits required to operate the day care.
SANDY VALLEY BLAZE
No one injured when fire destroys home
Clark County Fire Department investigators are looking into what sparked a fire that destroyed a home in Sandy Valley early Friday.
It took firefighters an hour to extinguish the 6:20 a.m. blaze at 305 W. Onyx Ave.
No one was injured, Fire Department spokesman Scott Allison said.
Crews from two volunteer stations and regular county firefighters fought the blaze from outside because the fire and smoke was too intense to get inside the home, he said.
LAKE HAVASU CITY
Police investigate murder-suicide case

Sloma said the alleged gunman, Ronald Trevor McGrew, 36, fled the scene in his vehicle.
Police located the vehicle at McGrew's residence in the 3200 block of Osborn Drive at 6:15 p.m.
Sloma said a SWAT team entering the residence found McGrew dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He said the victims knew one another and that police are trying to determine what prompted the shootings.
