School locked down because of gunman
About 300 K-12 students at Mount Tipton School in the northwest Arizona community of Dolan Springs were placed in lockdown after a masked gunman came on campus near the end of school Tuesday.
The man with a dark-colored pistol entered through a gate at the rear of the school grounds at 3:12 p.m., Mohave County sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said.
The man assaulted a school employee who suffered a minor injury. A detention room also was damaged. No shots were fired and no other injuries were reported.
Betsy Parker, assistant superintendent of the Kingman Unified School District, said there had been no threats and officials are unaware of any hostility toward the school, its employees or students.

SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT
Lawsuit filed in death of TV anchor settled
The product defect lawsuit between the family of deceased anchorwoman Polly Gonzalez and Ford Motor Co. was settled Tuesday, a source familiar with the case said.
Details of the settlement remain confidential, but Ford will not admit liability.
Gonzalez, 43, was killed in 2005 when she was in a single-vehicle rollover accident on California's Highway 127 near Death Valley. Her two daughters were injured in the crash but survived.
Her family sued Ford in 2007, claiming the Ford Explorer was unsafe and contributed to her death. The suit claimed the vehicle's roof wasn't strong enough to withstand a rollover and that Gonzalez' seat belt didn't work, among other things.
A trial was to start in about two weeks. Gonzalez worked for KLAS-TV, Channel 8.
