Teenager dies in rollover in Henderson

A 15-year-old girl died after the pickup she was riding in rolled over Friday night in Henderson.

The white Chevrolet Silverado was driven by a juvenile who was speeding in the same direction as a red Ford F-250 pickup that was driven by another juvenile, according to Henderson police.

The driver of the Chevrolet lost control of the truck, which left the roadway and flipped over at Grand Hills and Villa Barolo drives, near Eastern Avenue and Sun City Anthem Drive, about 11:30 p.m., police said.

The 15-year-old girl, whose name was not released, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two other passengers were taken to area hospitals, according to police. The extent of their injuries was not released.

The juvenile driver of the Ford was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police evict homeless from makeshift camp

Police in South Lake Tahoe have evicted homeless people from a makeshift camp in South Lake Tahoe following complaints from the public and a stabbing.

Police say they think at least 10 homeless people had been living around the Upper Truckee Meadow.

A 30-year-old transient has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the Nov. 6 stabbing of a homeless man in the area.

SETTLEMENT ISSUE

Ho's survivors not complying, estate says

A Hawaii state court filing alleges that survivors of the late Hawaii entertainer Don Ho are not complying with a settlement that distributes Ho's assets.

Attorneys for the estate filed papers Friday to force compliance by Ho's longtime companion, Elizabeth Guevara, and two of his children, Dorianne and Donalei Ho.

The singer died of congestive heart failure on April 14, 2007, at the age of 76.
