Police identify toddler who died in accident

The toddler who drowned in a family pool on Tuesday has been identified as 2-year-old Fransisco D. Conant-Johnson of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police said the child's grandfather called 911 at 2:30 p.m. and said the toddler was not breathing after being found in the pool, at 4144 Ridgewood Ave., near Tropicana Avenue and U.S. Highway 95.

A family member tried to resuscitate the child, but the toddler was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The Clark County coroner's office ruled the death an accident.

Las Vegas man ID'd in fatal car accident

The man who died after the car he was driving rolled over near a Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area exit has been identified as 22-year-old Christopher Conzen of Las Vegas.

Conzen was driving north on state Route 159 about 6:30 a.m. just north of the exit when his Toyota moved sharply to the left.

He steered back to the right, causing the car to overturn, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Conzen, who investigators believe wasn't wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle to a patch of desert off the side of the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

MOHAVE COUNTY, ARIZ.

Officials investigate death of jail inmate

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Arizona is investigating the death of a county jail inmate.

Rick John McNaulty, 69, of Lake Havasu City, was found dead in his jail cell about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said.

"McNaulty's cause of death is believed to be from natural and possible medical issues," Carter said. Autopsy results are pending.

Lake Havasu City police arrested McNaulty on Monday morning on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear in Bullhead City Municipal Court. He was found dead in his cell about 141/2 hours after he was booked into jail in Kingman.

BULLHEAD CITY, ARIZ.

Crash injuries claim life of motorcyclist

A Bullhead City, Ariz. motorcyclist who was critically injured in a Tuesday crash died Wednesday at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Bullhead City police identified the victim as Emilio Gutierrez, 59.

The accident happened in Bullhead City. Police spokeswoman Emily Montague said Gutierrez was northbound on State Route 95 at 10:10 p.m. when his 1994 Kawasaki was struck by a southbound 1995 Buick Le Sabre. The driver of the vehicle, Brian Robert Currie, 42, Bullhead City, was not injured.

The accident remained under investigation Wednesday.
