Titus pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, kidnapping and arson.

Ryan pleaded guilty to arson and battery with a deadly weapon with substantial bodily harm.

CHILD LEFT IN VEHICLE

Heat stress cited in death of Jason Rimer

Four-year-old Jason Rimer died from environmental heat stress after being left in a car for 17 hours, investigators from the Clark County coroner's office have determined.

His manner of death was a homicide, according to coroner's officials. That designation means his life was taken by another person accidentally or intentionally, and it does not imply guilt.

Rimer's parents, Stan and Colleen Rimer, have been charged with second-degree murder and multiple counts of child endangerment in connection with the June 9 death.

That morning, one of Jason's brothers found him in the back seat of the family's Ford Excursion. Jason had been left in the sport utility vehicle since the previous afternoon.

The Clark County Department of Family Services had 21 contacts and referrals involving the Rimers stretching back almost two decades prior to the boy's death.

The unidentified toddler was found floating face down at about 5 p.m. in the family pool in the 300 block of Pomegranate Circle, Las Vegas fire spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

The boy's grandparents discovered him after a five-minute search. They tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

The toddler's death is the second reported drowning of a child in the city this year.

LV motorcycle crash victim identified

The motorcyclist who died Thursday after a car drove into his path has been identified as 63-year-old Richard Poindexter of Las Vegas.
