Train strikes man in possible suicide
A man was pronounced dead after he was struck by a train early Saturday morning in what Las Vegas police said may have been a suicide.

He said he was unsure whether the man was dead before the train hit him.
The man's identity has not been released.
DOG DAY IN SACRAMENTO
Governor vetoes lapdog driving bill
It's still legal for Hollywood celebrities, and the rest of Californians, to drive with animals nestled in their laps.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is vetoing a bill to fine motorists $35 for sharing the driver's seat with lapdogs or other animals.
California's record budget impasse means Schwarzenegger must consider more than 800 bills before Tuesday's midnight deadline. His veto messages say he's signing only bills that are "the highest priority for California." And a lapdog ban isn't one of them.
CALIFORNIA MARIJUANA
Officers finding plenty of growing operations
Authorities are finding marijuana gardens hidden in suburban homes from Chico to Modesto.
Butte County officers found pot growing in six Chico homes, including three in the same apartment complex that had been modified so marijuana could be grown without neighbors knowing.
Four people were arrested. Officers seized 275 plants, 10 pounds of processed pot, firearms and nearly $15,000 in cash Thursday.
Modesto police found about $100,000 and a large number of plants at a rental home.
And three people were arrested on pot growing charges in Stockton.
