Three killed, six injured in blaze at complex
A fire early Sunday gutted an apartment complex in suburban Seattle, killing three people, injuring six others and displacing about 50 residents.
The fire started after midnight and left one two-story building gutted and another heavily damaged, King County fire spokesman Dave Nelson said. The cause of the fire in Burien, about 10 miles south of Seattle, was under investigation.
The injured, suffering from cuts and smoke inhalation, included a girl who jumped from a second-story window.

Five killed when plane crashes at airport
A plane crash at a small airport in New Mexico killed five people, authorities said Sunday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig said the plane, identified as a Cessna 206, crashed almost immediately after takeoff Sunday from Santa Rosa Route 66 Airport.
He said the pilot did not contact air traffic control.

NBA mistakenly part of lawsuit, casino says
A casino spokeswoman said Sunday the NBA should not have been included in a $50,000 lawsuit filed this month for an unpaid convention bill from the 2007 All-Star Weekend.
Jennifer Dunne of the Wynn Las Vegas said the lawsuit seeking payment should have been filed only against Alonzo Mourning Charities, Inc., not against NBA Entertainment and NBA Properties.
Dunne said an "administrative error" led to the mistake, and it would be corrected today.
The casino alleges in a lawsuit filed June 16 that the charity used convention and meeting space for a fundraiser. According to a fan Web site for Mourning, a charity billiards tournament and silent auction were held at Wynn Las Vegas on Feb. 15, 2007.
