RESIDENTS RATTLED
Quake aftershocks continue to hit Reno
More than two dozen aftershocks shook Reno on Saturday as a weeks-long swarm of temblors prompted some residents to spend nights outside in campers and trucks.
Since a magnitude 4.7 quake emptied store shelves and cracked walls on April 25, Phil Oberlander has spent nights in his boat parked in front of the house.
"I was in a car wreck that was less violent than the earthquake," Oberlander told the San Francisco Chronicle.
The strongest aftershock Saturday measured 2.3 and was recorded shortly before 2:30 a.m.
"I know people in the Bay Area think we are wimps, and 4.7 is not very big," said Sandy Wyosnick, who now sleeps in a camper in the backyard. "But when it's right under your feet, it's big."

California trail center near Elko taking shape
With work on the building all but completed, officials are considering exhibits for the California Trail Interpretive Center near Elko.
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management will hold a workshop May 12 to discuss proposed interpretive exhibits at the center, which is expected to fully open to the public in 2010.
"People will have a chance to comment on the content of the trail center's future exhibits," said Dave Jamiel, center manager.
The workshop will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the trail center, located on Interstate 80 about eight miles west of Elko.
The center will feature exhibits on the 19th century westward migration by covered-wagon pioneers.
IDAHO AIRPORT
Three killed in plane collision on runway
A small plane struck another craft as it was landing at an Idaho airport, killing three people and injuring three, including a 2-year-old pulled from the burning wreckage by the other survivors, officials said Saturday.
A Cessna 172 with two people aboard was landing at the McCall Municipal Airport on Friday night when it struck another plane of the same type with four people aboard, said Ian Gregor, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman.
The airport, which has no air traffic control tower, remained closed Saturday while authorities investigated.
