Man hurt in Saturday car crash dies Sunday

A 19-year-old Las Vegas man injured in a Saturday night car crash died Sunday.

North Las Vegas police said the crash happened about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard North and Fifth Street.

The victim, who was not identified, was in the rear passenger seat of a 1989 gold Nissan Maxima headed north on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Police said the driver of the Maxima failed to stop at a red light. Then a southbound blue 1990 Cadillac driven by a 50-year-old Las Vegas resident hit the right rear side of the Maxima where the victim was sitting. The Cadillac was crossing on a green light.

Police said the victim was not wearing a seat belt.

Man dies in shooting police call gang-related

A 23-year-old man was killed and two boys were injured in a drive-by shooting near Sandhill and Bonanza roads about 9:50 p.m. Saturday.

Las Vegas police Lt. Lewis Roberts said the three were walking to a party in a nearby neighborhood when gunshots were fired at them from a gold Hyundai Elantra.

He said the shooting was gang-related.

The two juvenile boys who were injured were taken to University Medical Center and are expected to survive, Roberts said. One of them was struck in the back twice, the other was hit in the ankle.

Roberts said police didn't have any suspects Sunday night.

At least four die when truck crashes, rolls

A truck jammed with as many as 60 illegal immigrants crashed and rolled in a remote part of central Arizona on Sunday morning, killing four and injuring many, a spokeswoman for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said.
