DOUBLE SHOOTING
Authorities suspect third person involved
Las Vegas police said Monday that they suspect a third person was responsible for a double shooting Saturday that led to the death of a 29-year-old man from Compton, Calif.
After being shot in the arm about 8:40 p.m. outside a convenience store on Durango Drive near Arby Avenue, Porter Payne ran into the street and was struck by a sport utility vehicle driven by 18-year-old Meagan Morley of Las Vegas, police said.
Payne was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.
Another man was shot multiple times and remained Monday at UMC.
Police initially said they thought the two men had shot each other.

Victim in collision was 27-year-old man
The man killed Sunday morning in a crash on Spring Mountain Road was identified as Jong Hwa Do.
The 27-year-old died at the scene after being thrown from his car in the head-on crash about 4:25 a.m. near Tenaya Way, Las Vegas police said.
The wreck occurred after Do's 2002 Toyota Camry crossed the centerline and hit an oncoming 2006 Nissan Xterra. Do, of Las Vegas, was not wearing a seat belt.
The Nissan's driver, 31-year-old Gregory Gayhart, and passenger, 33-year-old Sean Christie, both of Las Vegas, were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police cited Gayhart with misdemeanor driving under the influence.

Authorities ID victim in boating accident
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in California has released the name of a 10-year-old Temecula, Calif., girl who was killed in a weekend boating collision on the Colorado River near Needles.
Deputy Troy McComas said Sara Mariotta suffered severe head injuries and died after transport to Valley View Hospital in Fort Mohave, Ariz.
Four others suffered moderate injuries when two boats collided one-half mile south of the Interstate 40 bridge about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
HENDERSON SHOOTING
Suspect in slaying arrested in California
Authorities Friday arrested a 21-year-old man in California who was wanted in connection with the killing of a Henderson man in July.
Daniel Joseph Gutierrez of Las Vegas was arrested about 3 p.m. near his relatives' home in Montclair, Calif., in the Los Angeles area, Henderson police said.
He is wanted in connection with the July 19 slaying of Josh Embler, 21. Embler was shot outside a house party at 78 Megan Drive, near Pecos Road and Wigwam Parkway.
Police said Embler was in a fight with other people at the party before the shooting.
