Victim of fatal crash identified as LV man

The 28-year-old Las Vegas man who died Monday after rear-ending a tractor-trailer has been identified as Michael Dabu.

Las Vegas police said Dabu was driving east in a 2002 Ford Explorer on Silverado Ranch Boulevard near Las Vegas Boulevard about 6:30 a.m. when he struck the back of a tractor-trailer stopped at a traffic light.

The driver of the big rig sustained minor injuries.

NLV police make arrest in Halloween slaying

Authorities have arrested a 20-year-old man in the fatal shooting of another man outside a Halloween party in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police on Thursday arrested Edward Earl Walker and booked him into the North Las Vegas jail on charges that he killed 18-year-old Jamal Hill on Nov. 1.

Walker was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Hill was found shot to death outside an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Gowan Road, near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
