57-year-old man found dead in desert
A 57-year-old North Las Vegas man who was missing from a group home was found dead on Monday morning in the desert area near Craig Road and Donna Street, North Las Vegas police said.
The man, whose name was withheld by police, used a motorized scooter to get around and the scooter had not been reported found as of Monday evening, police said. The scooter has three wheels and is black over purple, police said.
The man was reported missing from a home for people who have physical or mental disabilities about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Police seek public's help in identifying body
Las Vegas police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who was found dead in a vacant lot near Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road on July 14.
The woman was found in the area of McKnight Street and Poppy Lane, and police believe she was slain.
She was white or Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and had blond hair. The woman also had breast implants and a 5-inch-long multi-colored tattoo of a "fire dancer," a symbol associated with the Dave Matthews Band, on her lower back.

18-year-old driver ID'd in fatal traffic crash
An 18-year-old driver killed early Saturday in a traffic crash in North Las Vegas was identified as Yesenia Carrillo of Las Vegas.
The teen was traveling south on Civic Center Drive about 3 a.m. when she lost control of her car on a curve near Evans Avenue and hit a telephone pole, police said.
Carrillo was not wearing a seat belt and the impact knocked her out of the car, police said. She died at the scene.
