ELKO COUNTY CASE
Fire captain to stand trial in wife's death
West Wendover Fire Capt. Jeremy Loncar has been ordered to stand trial on allegations he killed his wife in January 2006.
The medical examiner who performed an autopsy on Anne Loncar ruled that she died as a result of constricted airway disease, or natural causes. But Elko County District Attorney Gary Woodbury maintains the Jeremy Loncar placed her in a chokehold and killed her. He said Loncar has offered contradictory, misleading statements to investigators about what happened.
Elko Justice of the Peace Al Kacin ruled Friday night that the prosecution met the burden of offering "slight or even marginal" evidence necessary for the defendant to be bound over for trial.
