Man found dead at Paradise Road hotel
A middle-aged man was the victim of a homicide Saturday afternoon at the Knights Inn hotel, Las Vegas police said.
Police responded to a report about 2:40 p.m. at the hotel at 5100 S. Paradise Road, near Tropicana Avenue.
There, police found the man, who appeared to be in his late 40s to early 50s, dead on the floor of a room.
Authorities learned that the man had checked into the hotel Friday under a false name.
Police withheld the victim's identity.

Teen found shot dead at apartment complex
A teenage boy was shot to death Saturday afternoon at an apartment complex near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Washington Avenue, Las Vegas police said.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at the complex, at 900 Doolittle Ave., at 2:48 p.m. Saturday.
Police were directed to an apartment, where a boy was found shot an unknown number of times. The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police withheld the age and identity of the boy.
Police determined that the victim and other people were in the courtyard of the complex when an argument broke out and shots were fired. Several people fled the scene, police said.

Trucker drives off pier into San Diego Bay
A trucker hauling Volks-wagens drove his cab and several cars into San Diego Bay after blacking out at a marine terminal in National City.
Fire department Capt. Sergio Mora said the driver "suffered some kind of medical emergency" and drove off a pier Saturday.
He said the driver regained consciousness and swam about 13 feet to the surface, where dockworkers helped him out of the water.
