65-year-old LV man dies after van wreck
A 65-year-old Las Vegas man died Sunday evening after the van he was driving ran off the road and hit a utility box, Las Vegas police said.
Edgar Annon was northbound about 6:45 p.m. in the 10800 block of Washburn Road, near Durango Drive and Ann Road, when his 2000 Dodge Caravan veered off the road, police said.
He was taken to Summerlin Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, police said.

Authorities identify bludgeoned woman
The woman police said was killed by her boyfriend Saturday before he set fire to their bedroom was Wendy Garcia, the Clark County coroner's office said Monday.
The 19-year-old mother was beaten to death with a hammer in her room on the 300 block of George Place, near D Street and Owens Avenue. Her room then was set on fire, authorities said.
Police arrested her boyfriend, Jorge Witrago, 20, on charges of murder and arson. Investigators suspect he was high, possibly on cocaine, during the attack, police said.

Coroner's office IDs shooting victim
The woman found shot to death in a North Las Vegas alley early Sunday was Cheryl Black, the Clark County coroner's office said Monday.
North Las Vegas police arrived about 6:35 a.m. at the alley abutting an apartment complex behind the 1900 block of Lake Mead Boulevard near Martin Luther King Boulevard regarding reports of gunfire. They found Black dead in a gray late-model Chevrolet sedan in the alley.

Accident victim was Las Vegas woman
The 29-year-old Las Vegas woman killed when her car slammed into a large palm tree in the northwest valley Saturday was Jennifer Anne Egenes, the Clark County coroner's office said Monday.
She was eastbound on Azure Road near U.S. Highway 95 when she lost control of her 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage on a curve and hit the tree, Las Vegas police said.
She died at the scene. Police said they thought speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT
Pedestrian killed by pickup was LV woman
The woman who was hit by a truck and killed Friday afternoon while crossing Harmon Avenue outside the Hard Rock Hotel was 61-year-old Donna Dagostino of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said.
She was in a crosswalk when a pickup hit her and kept going, Las Vegas police said. Dagostino died at the scene.
The truck, described as a small, older model with a long bed, continued east on Harmon before turning north on Swenson Avenue.

20-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED
Authorities identify LV man killed in wreck
A driver that authorities said was killed by a street racer Friday morning was identified as Soo Yup Jun.
The 56-year-old Las Vegas man was heading north on Torrey Pines Drive in a 2003 Toyota Rav4 when a speeding Volkswagen Jetta ran a red light and hit his vehicle at the intersection of Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas police said.
The Jetta was going about 70 mph in a street race with another car about 11:40 a.m., police said. The second car stopped at the light.
The collision sent the Rav4 spinning into two other vehicles. Jun was taken to University Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Police arrested the driver of the Jetta, Dwayne Spellar Jr., 20, on charges of felony driving under the influence, felony reckless driving and other charges.
LAS VEGAS ROBBERY
Stabbing victim was 56-year-old Las Vegan
The man who was stabbed to death early Wednesday on Cecile Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Pecos Road was 56-year-old Loy Smith of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said Monday.
He was killed while being robbed, Las Vegas police said.
Police had responded to the area after a woman called 911 to report a man being beaten about 4:40 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found Smith on the ground, bleeding. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.
Smith, who had been visiting friends in that neighborhood, was attacked by two men who ran away after being caught in the headlights of a passing car, police said.
