IN BRIEF

THIRD YEAR FOR EVENT

Vegoose music fest scheduled for October

Dates have been set for the annual Vegoose music fest, which will return to Las Vegas from Oct. 26 through Oct. 28.

Now in its third year, the event has been headlined in the past by such names as the Dave Matthews Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and The Killers. It is a carnivalesque bacchanalia at which many attendees try to outdo one another with outlandish costumes.

Though attendance was modest last year with 35,000 concertgoers showing up through the weekend, Vegoose organizers seem committed to making the fest work.

Centered at the 30-acre Star Nursery Fields near Sam Boyd Stadium on Oct. 27-28, the fest also includes the Vegoose at Night music series, which takes place at various venues across town beginning Oct. 26.

This year's lineup is to be announced in coming weeks. Visit www.vegoose.com for more details.
