EL RANCHITO INCIDENT

Man involved in bar fight found slain

A man escorted from a North Las Vegas bar after getting into a fight with another patron early Saturday might have been better off staying inside.

A few minutes after the man was bounced and several gunshots later, North Las Vegas police were working their 11th homicide of the year.

Police were called about 3:05 a.m. to the El Ranchito bar at 3100 E. Lake Mead Blvd., near Belmont Street, and found the victim in the bar parking lot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim had scuffled with another man in the bar just before the shooting, police said.

Both men then were escorted out of the bar and that's when the shots were fired, police said.

Investigators believe the shooter might have been the man involved in the fight.

He was not at the scene when police arrived.

The identity of the victim was withheld by police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
