POSSIBLE ROBBERY

Suspect dies after shooting; victim hit in arm, police say

A suspect died after an early morning shooting in the northeast valley that also resulted in the victim receiving a wound, Las Vegas police said Saturday.

Officer Barbara Morgan, a spokeswoman with the Metropolitan Police Department, said the shooting occurred about 6:30 a.m. on the 3800 block of Hudson Bay Avenue, near Pecos and Bonanza roads.

Morgan said the death was "possibly the result of a robbery." A local media outlet reported the shooting might have been a home invasion, but Morgan could not confirm that.

Morgan said the suspect was transported to University Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the head and chest. The suspect died at the hospital. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, Morgan said.
