India to Las Vegas? Not so fast

Daily, nonstop service between several Indian cities and Las Vegas isn't in the cards, after all.

An official for British Airways says published reports of such a service are wrong.

"That was definitely an error," John Lampl, spokesman for the airline, says of a report Monday in the Hindu Business Line.

The article stated there would be daily, non-stop service beginning Oct. 25.

Most likely, the report meant to state that flying between India and Las Vegas would get easier in the fall because that's when British Airways is scheduled to launch daily service between Las Vegas and London's Heathrow airport.

There are already several British Airways flights between London and India and once service to McCarran International Airport begins, it will be easier and faster to go from India to Las Vegas.

"They can do it every day," Lampl said of an India-London-Las Vegas route, "but it is just not possible to do nonstop."
