Indictment says Aryan Warriors killed one inmate, stabbed another

Federal prosecutors filed an updated indictment Tuesday against more than a dozen suspects they say belong to a white supremacy prison gang accused of murder, bribing guards and trafficking drugs.

The latest indictment alleges that members of the Aryan Warriors, including ringleader Ronald "Joey" Sellers, killed an inmate in 2006 and stabbed another member of the white supremacy prison gang in 2007.

It accuses Sellers and others of killing inmate Anthony Beltran on Dec. 28, 2006. It also accuses Sellers, James Milton Wallis and others of stabbing Guy Almony multiple times.

Almony, who was indicted with the others in July, was stabbed six times with a homemade knife at the North Las Vegas Detention Center on Nov. 30, 2007.

The original July indictment accused the Aryan Warriors suspects of a variety of crimes, including bribing public officials with drugs and money as well as extorting prisoners and their relatives.

Six of those indicted were serving time at Ely State Prison or High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs, about 45 miles northwest of Las Vegas, at the time of the July indictment.

The gang has operated in the Nevada prison system for at least 17 years, but some experts claim they were active for more than 30 years.

The Aryan Warriors were first involved in protecting white inmates and promoting white supremacy in Nevada's prisons.

They eventually became involved in drug dealing and other illegal activity, authorities said.
